Scott serves as the founder and executive director of the Canadian Emergency Services Collaborative Innovation Lab (Laboratoire d’innovation collaborative des services d’urgence canadiens), based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With over three decades of experience in Emergency Services, spanning both Fire and Paramedicine, Scott brings a wealth of practical knowledge to his pivotal role.

As an Assistant Fire Chief, Scott not only oversees critical operations but also maintains his Critical Care Paramedic License through the Nova Scotia College of Paramedics. His journey has taken him across three provinces in Canada and International, where he has held various front-line and leadership positions, including roles as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic, Educator, Deputy Chief, and Healthcare System Consultant.

Scott’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the field. He achieved a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality from Queen’s University, specializing in Human Factors—a testament to his dedication to advancing quality and process improvement through rigorous academic pursuits. His belief in lifelong learning and personal growth fuels his passion for innovation and technology within the emergency services domain.

Currently, Scott embarks on a post-graduate journey as a PhD student in System Design Engineering, with a focus on building better strategic, resilient, and adaptive organizations that empower and support people within their organisational system.

His multifaceted background underscores his unwavering commitment to supporting leaders to strategically enhancing organizational systems.
