Who we are
The Human Factor is a Hamilton, Ontario-based advisory practice operating at thehumanfactor.ca. We’re subject to Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and committed to using personal information responsibly.

What we collect and why
We collect personal information only when you give it to us, plus minimal anonymous usage data to improve the site.
Information you provide
- Contact form: name, email, organization, role, and your message. Used to respond to your inquiry and follow up.
- AI Readiness Assessment: name, email, organization, industry, and your responses to the assessment questions. Used to email your results and to improve the assessment.
- Booking a call: handled by Cal.com. They collect what you enter at booking time (name, email, time-zone). See cal.com privacy policy.
Anonymous usage data
- Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization and Consent Mode v2. Tracks page views, time on page, and traffic sources. Only fires after you accept cookies. We never see your IP address or precise location.
Who processes your data
We rely on these third-party processors. We’ve picked each because they offer strong privacy guarantees, and we share only what’s needed.
- Supabase (database hosting, Canadian region) — stores your contact and assessment records. Privacy.
- Resend (transactional email) — delivers our reply / confirmation emails. Privacy.
- Vercel (web hosting) — serves the site. Privacy.
- Google Analytics (anonymous usage analytics) — only with your consent. Privacy.
- Cal.com (booking tool, when applicable) — manages call scheduling. Privacy.
How long we keep it
Contact records and assessment responses are retained for as long as we have an active client relationship, plus a reasonable period for follow-up. You can request deletion at any time by emailing info@thehumanfactor.ca and we’ll act on it within 30 days.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccuracies
- Withdraw consent / request deletion
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Cookies and tracking
We use a cookie consent banner on first visit. Decline keeps the site fully functional with no tracking; accept enables Google Analytics 4 (anonymized). You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

We’ll update this page when our data practices change. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted here for at least 30 days.
