Practice area two

Assessment, Strategy and Planning

Assessments and plans that account for how people actually do the work, and build in the learning that keeps them current. By arrangement.

Our approach

Plans that survive contact with the work

Most plans are written for the organization on paper. We start with the organization as it actually runs: how decisions get made, where the friction is, and what people do to keep things working. Human factors science and learning from events are what set our planning work apart.

Services

What we take on

Organizational and readiness assessments

Where your organization stands today, including readiness for AI and automation, with findings your people will recognize.

Strategic and master plans

Direction for the next five to ten years, built with the people who will deliver it.

Community risk assessments and HIRA

Hazard identification and risk assessment that connects risk to the capability you actually have.

Emergency management plans and exercises

Plans, and the exercises that test them, written for the people who will use them on the worst day.

Accreditation readiness

Improvement planning that builds the evidence accreditation asks for into everyday work.

Workflow and decision redesign

Where work is underperforming and why, and changes that make good decisions easier.

How we work

The ARIA Method

Every engagement follows the same four steps: Assess, Redesign, Implement, Advance. Whether the work involves a plan, a process or a new technology, every change is designed around the people who will use it.

1

Assess

Understand your organization, people and context. Map decision-making, workflows, leadership dynamics and readiness for change. Identify where systems are underperforming, and why.

2

Redesign

Analyze friction points and design better systems. Define improvement opportunities, including where AI and automation create genuine value and where they do not.

3

Implement

Build, test and validate. Deploy process changes, new tools and technology with structured change management. Pilot with real users in real workflows before scaling.

4

Advance

Adoption is not deployment. Train people, build governance, measure outcomes, and create the conditions for continuous improvement.

Independence

We do not take on accreditation readiness work for an agency Scott Ramey may assess as a CFAI peer assessor, and we declare any relevant commercial interest in writing before work begins.
