Purpose and use

One record per driver, opened when a member starts the driver program and kept current for the member’s service. The training division keeps it; company officers check the authorization in Part C before assigning a driver; the licence and abstract are rechecked every year in Part B; every driver is re-evaluated at least every 24 months and after any collision or at-fault near miss in Part F (Policy - Apparatus and Driving 5.5 and 5.6; Apparatus, Driving and Roadway Operations Program sections 5.5, 5.6 and toolkit T9). Operator content follows the driver/operator job performance requirements (NFPA 1010, 2024, ch. 11) and the health and safety standard’s driver rules (NFPA 1550, 2024, ch. 8); training records are managed to the training standard (CSA Z1001-18). The record holds the medical outcome only, never a diagnosis.
